Roofs are prone to hail and weather damage that can lead to a deterioration of material. It is possible to repair most holes and damage, at least temporarily. Depending on the material that your roof is will determine what patch material and process that we use. Certain roofs require cutting and gluing down some new material with a complete 6 inches of cover extending every which way from the hole. Other materials require using a plastic welder to weld the material over the hole. And others, require a complete removal of material from an area and re7applying an entire sheet.
Short Term Repair
Many roof repairs will be superficial with the goal of putting a patch to last for as long as possible. However, a roof repair can last up to a year or more if done right. This may be the necessary time for someone to save up the money and create a plan to perform the replacement on the damaged roof. The patch is made of the same material as the roofing material, so you will not notice any difference in the appearance of your roof. Our patches will blend seamlessly, and you will only be left with a clean and non-leaking roof.
Long Term Repair
If you have a roofing material that can be patched for longevity, then we will provide that repair. Some people elect to attempt to patch roof’s themselves by purchasing patch kits from a hardware store, but we advise against this. But, if you get the bug to do it yourself and mess up, you will be left with a leaking roof with excess patch material that will make our job even more difficult and less likely to succeed. Therefore, it is recommended that you call us to do the repair, so it is done right.
An extremely damaged roof may be satisfied with some short-term repairs over the multiple problem areas. However, these repairs will not solve the bigger issue. If there is severe storm damage, then the roof has more issues that will require a long-term replacement. We are happy with patching up every hole that we find but will advise our customers on scheduling a replacement and repair that will be focused on a long life for your roof and property. It will not be possible to determine the extent of the repairs until we get started probing around.
For aged or severely damaged roofs, then a total replacement will eventually be required. If the water has damaged the insulation or ice and water under the roofing material, then serious damage can occur that will only be fixed by a complete roof replacement. Our crews will investigate the roof as we start the repairs and analyze whether the material under the roof is damaged or not. Then, a plan of action can be developed with the goal of doing a short-term repair with the plan of doing a long-term fix in the future.
